What is the new Phantom Blade Zero release date?
Phantom Blade Zero will now launch on October 29, 2026. S-GAME moved the release from its previous September 9 date, giving the development team an additional 50 days to finish a defined set of improvements.
Creative director and S-GAME CEO Soulframe Liang announced the change on June 2. He apologized to players for the delay but said the team did not want to ship while it still saw an opportunity to make a meaningful improvement to the launch version.

Why did S-GAME delay Phantom Blade Zero?
S-GAME said recent development work revealed one final opportunity to improve the game. The team has upgraded character models and reworked a number of environments, while continuing to refine the technology and production behind the project.
The studio is also trying to preserve Phantom Blade Zero’s visual impact on systems or settings that do not use ray tracing. Ray tracing can further enhance the presentation, but the stated priority is maintaining the core atmosphere and intensity for as many players as possible.
Liang acknowledged that 50 days cannot solve every possible issue. The delay is instead intended for specific improvements that affect the first experience players have with the game. S-GAME considered delivering some of that work through post-launch updates, but chose to target the day-one build.
What was planned after the delay announcement?
The developer previewed two announcements that would follow during the summer:
- A new trailer released alongside the start of pre-orders, featuring new in-game footage.
- A dedicated 15-to-20-minute State of Play covering the world, combat, exploration, and character progression.
Both milestones have since happened. Pre-orders opened with two early-unlock bonuses, and the standalone presentation revealed more than 30 main weapons, 25 Phantom Edges, side quests, reforging, and three difficulty options.

Did the delay change the announced platforms?
The delay announcement did not remove any of the storefronts currently promoted by the game. Phantom Blade Zero is listed for PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Release timing can vary by region. Although the broadly promoted date is October 29, PlayStation states October 28 for the United States and select regions. Buyers should use the date displayed by their local storefront when planning preload or launch-day access.
What should players expect next?
With the gameplay presentation complete, the remaining pre-launch period is focused on the final release build and official updates. Claims about performance targets, review timing, preload dates, or exact unlock times should be treated as unconfirmed until S-GAME or the relevant storefront publishes them.
The news archive will collect those verified announcements as launch approaches. The homepage also links directly to each official platform page.
